NHI Stands Up to Challenges, Employees’ Hard Working Presents in Every Moment

“I am so glad to see that everyone has a work to do and more salaries to get”. “More salaries for more work, and we have witnessed the changes in everyone’s salary during this year. On one year anniversary to the mixed ownership reform, most employees of NHI under the Fangda Group regained confidence from the mixed ownership reform. Facing the current task, they were united and worked as a whole. Employees provided their suggestions and did their best to fight against the epidemic and speed up development as well as involved in the activity of “overall cost reduction and 100 days’ hard work”.

Standing Up to Epidemic with Both Production Assurance and Epidemic Control

Facing the severe situation of COVID-19 epidemic, NHI paid highly attention and took early actions. Before the Spring Festival, a leading team for "Novel Coronavirus Joint Prevention and Control work" had been set up and a notice regarding "Fulfillment of Novel Coronavirus Joint Prevention and Control Work" had been issued to promote the implementation of all prevention and control measures in a comprehensive, systematic, scientific and orderly manner.

NHI's Party committee issued an initiative to call on Party branches at all levels and all Party members to give full play to the role of fighting fortress and vanguard model, and keep in mind their mission and overcome difficulties together. NHI had invited experts from Fangda Yingkou People’s Hospital for special lecture and Q&A. By using the staff forum to respond to the concerns of the staff in time, the panic had been eliminated, and the efforts to fight against the "epidemic" had been united. All cadres and employees followed the command, built protections, and made contributions to epidemic prevention and control. At the same time, NHI made every efforts to organize the resumption of production and sounded the clarion call to resume production and assure the market supply.

To ensure the timely delivery of projects, such as screw vertical mills for Benxi Dongfang Sanjiazi, mixers for Shiheng special steel, TBM for Taizhou and stacker & reclaimer for Anhui Conch, the Production Directing Center of NHI carefully planned and organized the schedule of production. The workers from the production line actively gave up the opportunity to reunite with their families during the Spring Festival, and stuck to their position and strived for the delivery time since the beginning of the holiday. In the structural parts workshop, the arc light flickered and the welding flowers splashed. The workers were busy cutting, assembling and welding. The major component workshop completed the processing tasks in a tight and orderly manner, won precious time for the subsequent assembly, ensured the timely delivery of products, and maintained the market reputation. All assembly workshops strengthen overall, market, refined management and responsibility awareness, and reasonably formulate and fully promote the operation plan. NHI organized and assigned employees to the site for installation during the New Year holiday for the guaranteed delivery and usage of the converter for Sichuan Dazhou iron&steel Group. A team of 19 people overcame difficulties in work conditions with high altitude and temperature. Facing the difficult standards with nearly 8 meters in diameter and 1 mm in coaxial deviation, the team fought continuously for more than 50 days and finally delivered the products to the users with quality guaranteed on schedule, which was highly recognized by the users.

All cadres and employees actively bear the responsibility on their shoulders. No matter the workers in front line or employees in the management, security and service departments, they are all taking practical actions to make their contributions to fight against the epidemic and develop the enterprise.  

Enhance Technology R&D and Accelerate the Innovation

NHI has a long history with an important position in heavy machinery industry in China, and has created many “the firsts” and made great contributions to the national economy. NHI had made glories achievements and was well known as the cradle of Chinese heavy machinery industry.  

On April 30, 2019,in accordance with the relevant spirits of the Party Central Committee on promoting the vitalization of northeast China and depending the reform of the state-owned company, under the correct leadership and great promotion of Party Committee and Municipal Government of Liaoning and Shenyang, NHI successfully completed the judicial reorganization and mixed ownership reform, and Liaoning Fangda Group became the largest shareholder by laws, and thus making NHI enter into the new chapter of development.

Design and R&D work are the basis of project production, which are directly related to enterprise development, product quality and cost. After the mixed ownership reform, Liaoning Fangda Group had given full supports to NHI with more investment in technology research & development, adjustment of product structure, manufacturing of high added value products, realizing product updates, comprehensively improving the core competitiveness in the segment market. On the basis of integration of technology, research & development, NHI put large investment in purchasing the graphic workstation and servers. Design softwares were bought and updated to improve design conditions, so that the design quality and efficiency of design and process had been greatly improved. The first domestic heavy equipment intelligent cloud service expert management system jointly built by Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and NHI was officially launched, which was an important step towards product intelligent transformation.

At the same time, policies such as the salary allocation had inclined to technology, which have greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of the research and development team in tackling key problems and innovation. The engineers of NHI took the responsibility of optimizing the design and strictly controlled each process. Mr. Jiao Xudong is a technician in conveying equipment design institute. In the optimizing and upgrading between old and new kinetic energy conversion system in Laiwu branch of Shandong steel, he carefully studied the optimized design scheme and found that the frequency to use the low-speed drive and roller carrying trolley was not high, especially the low-speed drive device, which was only used at the initial stage of installation or when replacing the belt. After analysis and demonstration, he found that the domestic three-in-one reducer could completely replace the imported one. Finally, he convinced the owner and the design institute, and reduced the cost rate of the project by 40.42%.

NHI’s independently designed and developed products are gradually put into the market. The first order of self-movable telescopic annular stacker was achieved in overseas market, which opened a new market field of mobile stockyard; the first EQC6330 full section TBM in large diameter used in coal mine rock roadway in China was successfully applied in Shandong Xinjulong coal mine and successfully excavated; the first diameter of 4.5m full section semi coal roadway TBM in China has completed factory acceptance; the first T12 active multi-function scraper in China is in the factory Trial assembly, and will be applied to Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station project; high and low speed sand makers were sold in the market, laying a foundation for developing the market of complete sets of sand aggregate equipment; the design and development of complete sets of 100t ultra-high power electric furnace equipment was completed, which is suitable for the market promotion. A series of new products have been developed successfully, which continuously expand NHI’s new development.  

Take the Advantage of Mixed Ownership Reform, Make Great Efforts to Improve Enterprise Competitiveness by all

Liaoning Fangda Group, a well-known private enterprise started from Liaoning Province and now distributed around the whole country, mainly engaged in carbon, iron & steel industries and medical & pharmaceuticals services as major business, and heavy machinery manufacturing, commerce, trade and real estate as complement. As the strategic investor, Fangda Group brought with NHI the completely market-oriented system, abundant capital resources, and a new business development concept. Fangda Group vigorously promoted the deepening reform of the enterprise, significantly enhanced the vitality and market competitiveness, and inspired all employees to devote themselves to work with greater enthusiasm, especially the activity of overall cost reduction and work for 100-day being launched to resist the impact of the epidemic .

NHI’s new order in the first quarter of 2020 was 1.03 billion yuan, which was increased by 275% year on year, marking continuous improvement of customer confidence and the efforts by sales team. Mr. Li Dapeng is mainly responsible for signing the contract of heat treatment strip processing products. As a marketing salesman of the heat treatment plant, he serves multiple customers by himself. During the day, he negotiates business, receives and delivers goods, and files contracts. In order to meet the requirements of customer's product schedule and the assembly furnace of the plant, he actively seeks processing orders from various companies. Work overtime and overnight is very normal for him. He drafts the contract approval process at night in order to accelerate the work efficiency. He often worked until midnight. In the first quarter, he signed a total of 8 annual standard contracts for heat treatment strip processing and 133 heat treatment strip processing contracts.

There’s always benefit to dig in each process, including production, machining, assembly, etc. Mr. Xiao Honglong is an employee of the NO.1 workshop of the general assembly of the transmission workshop. He actively made suggestions to reduce the cost, and proposed that the water heater should be opened regularly, which not only meets the daily use of the employees, but also saves resources. The auxiliary workshop employee Mr. Gao Tianlu proposed to dismantle the waste parts for reuse, which not only saved the cost, but also accelerated the maintenance speed.

Staff in service center fully mobilized their subjective initiative. The cutting edge of the canteen was broken. They grinded it with grinding wheel, polished it with oilstone carefully, and then reused it. The gutter of the canteen fell off, and they replaced it with waste steel plate. The cleaning tractor broke down, and everyone tried their best to find relevant equipment information and repaired it by themselves, making the company save over 3000 yuan.

The enterprise’s development is for employees, and depends on employees. The achievements of the enterprise are shared by the employees.
