Fangda Group NHI: Stabilize Enterprise and Ensure Employment

Mixed-Ownership Reform Brought New Vigor

NHI is an enterprise with a long history and a profound technology accumulation. It is a national high-tech enterprise, Top 100 enterprises in China's machinery industry and also has the reputation as “the cradle of China’s Heavy Machinery Industry”. Occupying an important position in machinery manufacturing industry both domestically and internationally, the products are exported to more than 50 countries and regions in the world, which have created brilliant market performances.

In recent years, the operation and development of NHI has fallen into the situation of heavy losses constrained by the outmoded and backward ideologies of the traditional old state-owned enterprises, stagnated and rigid system and mechanism, as well as the drastic fluctuation of the industry market. NHI is saddled with huge debts, and large numbers of workers are suffered losing their jobs.

Fangda Group followed with the spirit of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the revitalization of Northeastern China and deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises, under the leadership and vigorous promotion of Liaoning provincial Party committee, provincial government, Shenyang municipal Party committee and municipal government. On April 30th 2019, Fangda Group actively participated in the judicial restructuring and mixed ownership reform of NHI with a feeling of repaying hometown, which became the largest shareholder of the enterprise by law, and also brought completely market-oriented mechanism, strong capital advantages and brand-new management ideas. Under the full support of Fangda Group and its brother enterprises, NHI has rapidly resumed market order and quickly carried out full-load production and operation. In the tide of mixed reform, an enterprise on the verge of bankruptcy radiated new vigor and dynamism.

Taking New Responsibility While Ensuring Stability of the Enterprise

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Fangda Group NHI has been sticking to the frontline of ensuring social production and living order and protecting the industrial chain.

In order to catch up with the schedule and guarantee the delivery time, NHI focuses on prevention and control of the epidemic on one hand and production and operation on the other, arranging production work of key projects and products in an orderly manner.

NHI technology research and development team closely follows the market pulse, focuses on users, and accelerates product technology upgrading and research & development of new products, to provide important support for the company to create new economic growth points. The purchasing company keeps innovating the recruitment mode, and has signed 15 strategic supplier agreements with strategic suppliers, such as castings and finished bearing pedestal for rollers, to minimize the procurement costs. As a larger energy consumer, the heat treatment plant branch digs deep potential to reduce costs from three aspects: management, technology, and operation. The automobile steering system branch also increased its self-manufacturing rate through procurement and equipment transformation, and achieved the goal of reducing costs. Profits were realized for 3 consecutive months, and all employees won the profit awards.

Assuring Employment Rate through Recruitment

As national employment pressure increases, NHI shouldered its responsibility and provided more than 100 jobs for colleges and universities and the whole society, promoting the work of "Six Stability" and “Six Assurance” with practical actions. NHI conducted online interviews for the fresh graduates of 2020 through the Internet, and finally successfully signed 38 outstanding college students.

On August 17, the 38 newly signed college students of 2020, who have just stepped out of the ivory tower with dreams, came to the NHI for the first time and started a new journey in their lives.

Mr. Liang Xiu, assistant to the president of NHI, gave a warmly welcome to the young people who are just starting out in their careers and illustrated a detailed interpretation to the long history of NHI. Mr. Liang Xiu explained that the "heavy" of NHI was not the weight of the plant or the equipment, but the deep historical and cultural accumulation of NHI, the responsibility of "great pillars of a nation" and the feelings of "Craftsman's spirit". In the past few decades, NHI has cultivated national labor models such as Mr. Cao Baiku, Mr. Yu Tingwei and Liaoning provincial labor model Mr. Zhong Kui, as well as a group of Liaoning and Shengjing master craftsmen.

Now as the core enterprise of China's heavy equipment manufacturing industry, NHI will surely release new vitality with the continuous injection of new talent, continue to fulfill its social responsibilities, continue to demonstrate its responsibility, and make great contribution to the "six assurance, six stability".
